Welcome to a quick guide on how to enter Safe Mode on your PlayStation 5 console.
Assuming you’ll want to factory reset your PS5, reinstall the OS, etc. then that’s why you want to enter Safe Mode. Warning: this is a delicate menu, fiddling with the wrong option could corrupt or damage your PS5 console.
Before doing anything in this menu, I highly recommend backing up your data first. You can find steps on how to do that in my PS5 factory reset guide here.
Entering Safe Mode
- Power down the console. While powered off, press and hold the power button until you hear 2 beeps. The first beep indicates the console turning on, the second beep indicates that you’re booting into safe mode.
- You should get a prompt to connect your DualSense controller to the PS5 console using a USB cable.
- You’ll be shown the Safe Mode menu.
That’s a wrap. Again, just be cautious on what you do in this menu.
